Overview

You can turn your Excel data into a Zoho Creator application via import (i.e convert your .xls/.csv /.tsv data into a new Zoho Creator application) in three ways:

  • Copy/Paste data from the XLS file
  • Import data from the XLS files
  • Import data using the MS Access and Excel Migration tool

Comma separated values (.csv) or Tab separated values (.tsv) stored in other file formats can also be used to create your application with data. The created application will be directly displayed in access mode with data. To import data to an existing application refer the topic Import and Export Data

Copy Paste data from the XLS file

  1. Select the Import XLS, CSV icon from the Create New Application dialog.
  2. Specify the Application Name and choose the data location as Paste data.
  3. Copy the data from your .xls file or from other file formats that store comma separated values or Tab separated values.
  4. Paste the data copied from your .xls/.csv/.tsv file.
  5. Click on Create Now to import the data.

  6. The "Importing Data" dialog will display the data in the following format:
    • The default Field Type is displayed based on the type of data pasted for each column. If a field type is not correct, select the appropriate field type from the drop-down list..
    • The data in the first row will be displayed as the default Label Name for each column. If the option Consider first row as Label Names is unchecked, the Label Name will be left blank. You can type a new name in the Label Name box or modify the displayed names.
    • If the data contains a date field, select the required date format from the list of supported date formats. Click Finish to create the application with the form data.

    • The created application with form and view will be directly displayed in Access mode.

When I (being from Germany) import a CSV file I am getting strange hieroglyphes due to codeset problems. I tried western codepages and unicode (leads to an import crash), so it would be informative which code displays all my ü's and ä's correctly.

I have a big problem, I'm using the MS Access and Excel Migration Tool and it's great. Now I can upload my data to Zoho Creator. The problem is that all these data don't appear in the reports, what I can do? I can see all data that I introduced without this tool.
Thank you
